Emerson Network Power India targets B and C Class cities
Strengthens its network by appointing 14 Branch managers to develop smaller markets

Mumbai, January 20, 2004: Emerson Network Power India, the leading provider of network uptime solutions, is driving a B and C class city ‘Reach Out’ plan including markets such as Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Cochin, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Indore, Guwahati, Jamshedpur. To develop an Uptime Solutions Value Network in each of these cities Emerson has appointed a total of 14 city based branch managers.

Emerson has selected these cities based on its strong conviction in the growing awareness levels of businesses about the need to seriously invest in ‘Uptime Solutions’. The locations targeted are fast becoming global hubs in terms of R&D, ITES & BPO, Retail, and Manufacturing and given the criticality of operations undertaken in these sectors, there is an increasing need for comprehensive network uptime solutions, including enterprise class of UPS and Precision Air Conditioning. Even with respect to the SOHO segments, these cities have been displaying an upward spiral in terms of growth both in consumption and technology adoption.

Says, Hitesh Prajapati, Corporate Champion - Uptime solutions (Channel), Emerson Network Power India, “While the Top 4 metros still continue to dominate with a lion’s share of the IT products market; over the last fiscal, spending patterns in the ‘next four cities’* has dramatically increased recording growth in excess of 60%. In fact in product categories like servers, the growth shown in the class B and C cities has been more than 100% in the first half of 2003-04. Today, it is these B and C class cities that are driving the growth across all IT products and as market leaders, we see a tremendous scope to induce a better appreciation of Uptime criticality.”
A renewed city focused approach is based on Emerson’s plans to interface closely with all potential segments, forge stronger business relationships with partners and also network closely with various influencers such as architects, infrastructure consultants, and electrical contractors getting them to become part of the company’s ‘Uptime Solution Value Network’ Concept. As per the strategy, the company has appointed senior professionals with a mix of channel expertise and solutions handling capabilities as Branch Managers for each city. Below these Branch managers will be a host of Team Leaders who will address various verticals such as IT, Telecom, Manufacturing, and Process industries.
“This restructuring provides ample scope to extend geographically the proven capabilities of our teams and channels over the entire gamut of Uptime solutions in Power and Air. It will definitely provide tremendous comfort to our partners and customers and for us, a much better understanding of each market’s dynamics.” adds Prajapati.
