Mumbai,
April 19, 2004 –Emerson
Network Power (India) Pvt. Ltd.,
leaders in the Online UPS and Precision
Air Conditioners market today launched
the UPStation GXT 2U UPS. Available
in 1-3 kVA ratings, a unique, first
time feature of this UPS is the
flexibility in installation as a
space-saving rack-mounted unit or
a space-saving, free standing tower.
The GXT 2U is especially designed
to protect networks, servers,
telecommunications equipment and
industrial process equipment in
the SME segment and will be available
through the company’s channel
network. With this offering, Emerson
aims to target the Rs. 300 crores
small UPS market, which accounts
for 25% of the power conditioning
segment.
Commenting on the occasion was
Mr Rajguru, COO, Ingram
Micro, “The prime
users of 1-3 kVA UPS include SMEs
in the IT&T space. Typically
these organizations begin with
a single server and subsequently
add in a rack to house additional
units as the need for increased
storage arises. Having invested
in a UPS for their server loads,
one that is versatile enough to
bring in a dual choice of installation
has immediate appeal. Emerson
shall instantly find a ready market
for this product, more so, since
no other vendor offers a similar
option.”
Says Hitesh Prajapati,
Corporate Champion - Uptime solutions
(Channel), Emerson Network Power
India, “A fine
blend of aesthetics & design,
the GXT 2U takes the outstanding
features and unmatched reliability
of our current online offerings
and puts them into compact 2U
size cabinets. The GXT 2U is about
getting the flawless Emerson reliability
in just the right size and will
clearly become an IT Manager’s
favourite due to the ease of installation,
set up and ultimately the ease
of use.”
The GXT 2U UPS system is designed
with the features needed to protect
mission-critical equipment from
a variety of power problems, with
built in surge suppressors. As
a true on-line UPS, GXT 2U includes
power factor correction, internal
batteries, frequency conversion
capability, unlimited external
battery connectability and internal
automatic / manual bypass capabilities.
It is capable of handling potential
power problems like power spikes
and transients, EMI/RFI noise,
voltage sags, burnout conditions
and harmonics. It can transfer
the critical load to utility power
(bypass mode) in the event of
adverse conditions within the
UPS. This adds an extra measure
of reliability and availability
to the supported equipment without
the use of any additional cabinets.
