Emerson Network Power India forays into SOHO UPS market.

Aims to capture 5% of the SOHO UPS market by end of next year


Mumbai, August 26, 2005: Emerson Network Power (India) Pvt. Ltd., pioneers of Network Uptime Solutions and leaders in the Enterprise and SME UPS market today announced its entry into the SOHO UPS segment with the launch of two UPS models, the 600VA and the 1000VA under the ITON range. With the launch of the ITON 600VA and ITON 1000VA, Emerson becomes the only vendor in the Indian market to offer complete spectrum of air and power solutions across SOHO, SME and large enterprises.

As per MAIT, the UPS market size touched Rs 1,400 crore in 2003-2004. Of this market, the sub-5 KVA segment, comprising home, SOHO and SMB users, constitutes Rs 745 crore. The enterprise segment accounts for the remaining Rs 650 crore. With the launch of the ITON 600VA and ITON 1000VA, Emerson plans to capture 5% of the SOHO UPS market in India by end of next year.

The ITON range of products have been developed using the Smart AVR Technology and are equipped with Smart Monitoring Software, Smart Microprocessor Control, Overload Protection and alarm and Communication Port facility.

The ITON 600VA and ITON 1000VA will be distributed nationally through Ingram Micro which is the largest IT distributor in India and will be priced at Rs 2999 and Rs. 7999 respectively.
