Emerson Electric Company today
announced that it has been named
amongst "America's Most Admired
Companies" for the year 2007
according to a survey done by
FORTUNE magazine. Emerson emerged
as the second most admired company
in the electronics industry with
an overall score of 7.17 points
Emerson was ranked second in
six categories: people management,
use of corporate assets, quality
of assets, financial soundness,
long term investment, quality
of products/services. The 2007
ranking represents Emerson’s
strongest showing in the annual
survey, one of the nation's most
prestigious reports on corporate
reputations.

as America's second Most Admired

in so many reputation categories,"

To determine the companies on
the list, FORTUNE and its survey
partner, Hay Group, surveyed 3,322
executives, directors, and securities
analysts to select the ten companies
they admired most. They chose
from a list of companies that
ranked in the top 25% in last
year's survey, plus those that
finished in the top 20% of their
industry. In the survey, anyone
could vote for any company in
any industry.
